HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure)
Enabling HTTPS for publications.
Zmags supports delivery of HTTPS publications that can be setup for your account using one of the 4 options below.
- Always use the HTTP protocol.
- Always use the HTTPS protocol.
- Use both HTTP and HTTPS protocols (HTTP preferred).
- Use both HTTP and HTTPS protocols (HTTPS preferred).
Choosing one of the "Use both...." option will change the URL of a publication to https://secure.viewer.zmags.com/publication/ID - If you try to open the old standard URL a redirect to the new URL will automatically happen.
Choosing one of the preferred options, for example “HTTPS preferred” will then display the HTTPS address within your Zmags Publicator account if going to “Edit -> Publish” for one of the publications.
Note: Enabling HTTPS carries an extra cost and the price can be found by contacting your Account Manager with Zmags.
What is HTTPS?
HTTPS is a combination of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) with SSL/TLS protocol to provide encrypted communication and secure identification of a network web server. HTTPS connections are often used for payment transactions on the World Wide Web and for sensitive transactions in corporate information systems.
